1194 is the widest fit pair of jeans in the BUAISOU denim line.
We studied the fabric from a pair of vintage jeans from the 1870s. We then replicated the fabric by commissioning a local mill to weave our hand-dyed yarn into a 9 oz. 2/1 right twill denim. These jeans dry quickly being a lighter fabric than our other denims.
In line with denim pant’s original workwear purpose in the 1870s, these jeans are made with durability and comfort for movement in mind. They have vertical pockets, tucks and a large V-notch to prevent the belt from biting into the fabric. The entire sewing process is done on a single vintage Singer sewing machine with only the button holes sewn by hand.
In common with the 810 and 819, all of our denims have copper rivets, reinforced back pockets, and the back cinch to allow for a more personalised fit. Both sewing and lightness are far from modern so-called 5-pocket jeans.

Each piece is individually handmade and indigo-dyed.

These variations are not imperfections, but part of the unique character and depth inherent to natural dyeing—something fundamentally different from printed or synthetic-dyed products.
